Microcement and stone in an old apartment building. Color: Classic Beige FF2005CB [photos]

Microcement is most often associated with a modern or industrial style, but when looking at subsequent photos from our clients’ projects, we find out that in fact it will be used in any interior style: rustic, boho, Moroccan, Scandinavian … or in an old apartment building.

Today we invite you to Częstochowa Stone House Atelier – to the studio of Eliza Flis, designer and owner of the A Little Glamor exclusive footwear for women and children brand.

Eliza renovated an apartment in an old tenement house, which is dominated by stone, and apart from it, some of the floors and walls are covered with microcement. Why did she choose this particular material?

“The inspiration to finish the walls and floors in this way were my little trips around Europe and not only, in which I was always delighted with the lack of tiles in the bathrooms. Such a delicate nonchalance in the apartments, which I have always admired. Unfortunately, nowadays a trend dominates in Poland – as I call it “Castorama* style”, but I hope it will change soon.

I wanted an artistic and warm vibe at the same time, completely different from the standards, one that would also keep some old things – from the so-called with a soul. Old doors, or furniture that were once made using less advanced technology, and at the same time were a masterpiece. I look despairingly at “dying” palaces or tenement houses, which is why I saved the old double door, which used to be a combination of two rooms in this old tenement house, from being thrown onto the garbage dump. They are already sandblasted and will be inserted into the wall covering the gas stove. In the bedroom, I managed to scratch and renew a very old parquet, and I finished the rest of the floor with Festfloor Go! Color Classic Beige FF2005. It will be a place for photo sessions and meetings with my clients 🙂 “– explains Eliza.

Interestingly, the person in charge of microcement implementation was a rookie so far dealing with finishing and renovation works: “He was placing the microcement for the first time. I persuaded him to take up this challenge, because I did not care for the surface to be too smooth, especially that the apartment is dominated by the old 120-year-old stone from which this tenement house was built. “

We like the raw finish and the whole apartment very much. Congratulations and thank you for your trust and choice of our products!
